Fifth update of Alones is finally here!!

*checking when the 4th update released* Oh boy, it was almost a year ago! There was the visual novel Burning Woof I made between, but still.

But good news, Alones is back!! New characters, CGs, recipes, etc… For the recap, Paul-Loup got abducted by the balancers. How he will get out of this situation? We will also know more about Gaël, the adoptive big brother of Paul-Loup. A lot of plot twists and lore incoming!

Besides the two new chapters (around 12K words):

  • Rewritten the first two chapters in English
  • Gaël got redrawn (look at chapter 1 and 5)
  • More pictures for the recipes in the Cooking Den

Have a good read!

Bonne lecture !

Judgement comes from repeated actions or words or lack of.  One judgement stands to impact another.  Yet not all actions or words are as they seem.  In the end uncertainty is frustrating.

Nothing worse than people out here believing in something that can't actually be proven.  Mostly in the way they state it, and that they think it to be fact.

Aw crap...  Seriously?  He scary he adorable!

Daww! XD  Aww! and more Aww! XD

Oh I could tell something like this was coming since the first build!  And then this because of last build!  Hrm... too many coincidences, they make for convent excuse...  Wah What!? XD  SALMON!  BRUSHIES!  4th wall o.o  This is... wrong???  DX

Hotdogs for... hot "dogs"? X/3

That was good!  As always that feeling of not having anyone out here that really knows you, no matter how well you may otherwise get along..., but even then there must always be someone.

Not necessarily! Judgement can also be a result of a false schema that you hold. These can be learned through direct observation of the actions of others, but they can also be formed without firsthand or even real life experiences. If you were to show an animation of a dog biting someone to a child, they would equate such an experience with real life animals and go through life with the assumption that dogs were dangerous. As much as it is the responsibility of others to leave good impressions on us, it also falls on us to ensure that the impressions we create of others are reasonable in the first place, otherwise we are simply more likely to look for reinforcement for our previous beliefs than to create new ones.

It is true.  Reinforcement itself is hard to break, even more when one does not look for things to affirm it, that simply happen, that end up affirming it anyway.  That is why it best to find exceptions where some belief hold false.  It is struggle at times to look for them when everyone else wants something to be seen in one way only.  I am not happy to have my own difficulties form things I've seen and heard.  There are things I want to be wrong about, but its hard when those creating this information are also the same ones trying to fight it.  How to judge something that paints itself in a bad way, then tries to deny it?  Though all this fits in with what you mentioned.

What we’re searching for is true objectivity; making judgements without interference by emotions. Of course this is impossible, but it is something we should be aware of so that we can counteract it to some degree. I think the term ‘Unconscious Bias’ is overused today, but it is true that we all have them and we can’t let them cloud our judgement too much.

Petite coquille dans le chapitre 2, en anglais uniquement :

« It's a dish from Alsace, a northwestern region of France »

Merci Kelda! Je vais modifier ça au plus vite 😄
